Our story at Hair to Train (Tauranga Hair Design Academy Ltd) started in 1997 from our site at 9 Anson Street Tauranga. Hair to Train now operates from our boutique salon environment in the heart of Mount Maunganui.
We at Hair to Train pride ourselves on providing relevant, innovative and the highest quality hairdressing and barbering training to our students, which include full time learners in a friendly and family cultured environment.
We offer our students a warm, friendly, cultured environment that supports the development of each student to enable them to be their very best. Our commercial hair salon mimics a real salon therefore we give our students the opportunity to work on “real clients”. This develops employment skills and customer service skills that are required in any business today. At the Hair to Train hairdressing and barbering academy in Bay of Plenty, you will gain detailed knowledge about every aspect of hairdressing and barbering. From the theory of the craft through to quality work experience and practical step-by-step salon training. We are dedicated to creating professional hair stylists by inspiring growth and learning, maximising self-esteem and caring for each other.

Hair to Train is New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) registered and accredited under the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020. Our hairdressing trainers and examiners provide assessments based on hairdressing qualifications; Level 1 through to Level 4. You can be confident your qualification will be recognised by the best employers in New Zealand as well as overseas.
NZQA rates Hair to Train (Tauranga Hair Design Academy Ltd) as a Category Two Provider for New Zealand Tertiary Institutes: Confident in Educational Performance and Confident in Self-Assessment.
